Gordon received a science degree from the University of Alberta in 1984 and a law degree from the University of Victoria in 1987. Gordon was called to the Alberta bar in 1989 and practiced in association with a number of Alberta law firms prior to joining Henning Byrne in 2009.

Gordon carries on a general corporate and commercial practice, with a focus on general tax matters and, in particular, the resolution of taxation disputes. In this regard, Gordon is an experienced tax litigation lawyer, having represented clients on numerous occasions in proceedings before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and other courts.

Gordon continues to have an active involvement with various professional and community organizations.
